Photo of the Day, First Day of Summer Special Edition: Vedauwoo Wide

Nikon D7000, Nikkor 18-105VR: six image stitch. Meter complained of about 2/3 stop underexposure in manual mode at 1/800 sec., f8 and ISO 100. 18mm, landscape capture mode with saturation dialed down (adjusted in post) and sharpening dialed up. Post included additional sharpening and contrast tweaks as well as some exposure adjustment (blacks up a hair). Oh, and the stitching thing. Full size is 12,000x2,800px... or roughly 34 megapixels. Enjoy!

And here's a bonus photo, from two days earlier, just in case everyone was afraid my D7000 infatuation is getting the better of me.

Nikon D40 (the D40 lives!), Nikkor 18-55. Program in spot meter mode, 1/200 sec., f8, ISO 200. Remember: f8 and be there. The D7000 is a fantastic camera, but the D40 is always nearby in case an opportunity presents itself, as it did here.
